Maine Comic Art Festival Videos

I had a great, but exhausting time at the Maine Comic Art Festival. I made a ton of video, all of which I haven’t finished yet.

Lucy Bellwood was delightful. I subsequently bought a copy of “Baggywrinkles” and enjoyed it quite a bit.

Georgo O’Cpnnor did the show poster and writes a series about Greek Gods and their weirdness. I read the Hera book and learned some things I didn’t know.

and Fulton Beal does gag illustrations and strips and grew up on the Downeast Coast of Maine like me.

I have more, as you can see at the end of each of these, and they are coming still. I’ve been doing so much video, that I’m going to try to slow down a bit before I put these out. Also my youTube audience isn’t really burning these up with views, so I’m kind of back-burner-ing them for a little bit.

I also took a lot of still photos which are on the Casablanca Comics Facebook page, and shared at the Chad’s Attic Facebook page.

The Chad’s Attic Special – Melanie Tingdahl’s New Variant Cover

Thanks so much to Melanie Tingdahl for allowing me to talk to her about the new variant cover she’s drawn for the Lumbejanes/ Gotham Academy cross-over that comes out in a couple of weeks.

My whole family are fans of her work. An extra benefit from producing this episode. I finally, once and for all, know know to spell “variant”

Episode 38 – A full year in Chad’s Attic.

We’re a full year into Chad’s Attic, and a handful of people are still watching! That counts as a win! This time, we talk about the Avengers and the new Wasp, Nexus(just a bit), Steve Rude and the return to comics of Space Ghost. There’s a big bad jump cut near the beginning where I realized I was prattling on about stuff no one cares about. Kind of like now.

I did this one in the first take, so it’s slightly ragged, but I wasn’t sure it was going to get better the second time.

Episode 36 – On the road to the Bangor Comics and Toy Convention.

The Bangor Comic and Toy Convention was a blast, and we met some really nice folks, some of whom wound up in the video. Then I came home and got sick, and couldn’t speak for three days. So finally I’m able to assemble the first convention Chad’s Attic of the new convention season. Here are some handy links for some of the people who helped me make this episode, and the day, special.

Episode 34 – Back to the future.

My “To be filed” stack got too high. I had to make a video so I could put them away. I finally got around the showing some of the Green Lanterns that are some of the oldest pieces of the collection, both in terms of how old the books are and how long I have owned them.

Episode 33 – Well that was a surprise.

After thirty years of collecting, sometimes I get surprised at the things I pull out of the boxes. I do remember meeting Kaluta, but the thing I remember is not being able to afford the gorgeous original art he had at his table. I also tried a couple of new pieces of equipment with this episode, a new camera for the books, and a new microphone for my voice.
